I've got a ton of pictures from our anniversary weekend that I'd like to share. But to segue from Delicious' six month birthday post, here are the rest of the photos of that lovely, lovely afternoon spent with our dear friends, Mary and Ryan (whom we spent the same anniversary weekend last year!), the Sunday of the three day-weekend we were in Hot Springs*. They know how to live well. And by well, I mean, simply and elegantly.
They invited us to a little Memorial day cookout on Fassifern farm, on the edge of the Jackson River. They had fished the morning of and Ryan grilled up the trout. It was such a beautiful spread. Mary is an incredible gourmand (and also runs the new farmer's market in Hot Springs). There was Hank, the dog, who liked to hunt rocks in the river, friends visiting on horseback, and even a bald eagle! Such natural beauty in Bath County. I'm so glad that we've established friendships here.
It was Delicious' first picnic, first river, first nap under the trees. We want more of this life for him as he grows.
*For those who haven't been following since my wedding blog days, Hot Springs is the town where the Homestead resort (where we were married and where we've been spending our anniversaries) is located. Throughout the years, we've made friends with locals in the county, including Ryan and Mary.

What a splendid way to spend the day!
By the way, Rob says he loves Mr Delish's hat. And his rolls.
Um, you DO realize that posting extra squishy pictures of Mr. Delicious makes people like me go insanely nuts, right? His legs? Squiiiiish. His marshmallow arms? Squiiish! Yum! Oh, and the fish looked yummy, too. Jealous! :o)
Sounds like the perfect weekend. I would really like if that were my Monday right now :)
Looks perfect and I am in awe of your ability to get any posts up at all. I am depending on what you elegantly call an 'aircard' and I clumsily refer to as a 'web dongle thing' and it is driving me NUTS, big fistfulls of nuts. Love to you all and excited to hear the house is coming on apace.
Thanks, ladies!!!
Felicia: You're my #1 internet friend!
Rubies: HOW ARE YOUUUUUUUUUU????!!!
Brandi: Wow! Great to hear from you!
Fay: OMG, I hate the aircard. I think it's better referred to the dongle thing, for sure! Totally nuts, I'm there with you. Miss you guys!
wow love your blog, thanks for sharing your best memories....
